Attending the event were Chairman Huang Can, Vice Principals Lu Hanzhong and Liang Zurong, Supervising Director Chen Likeng, Principal Yang Zhenyi, Vice Principal Wei Chengjin, all teachers and students of Grade 12, as well as some parents. The proceedings were hosted by Vice Principal Tang Bangping and Teacher Chen Ziyan. To stirring music, students filed in neatly and took their seats. Principal Yang Zhenyi delivered the opening address, officially declaring the commencement of the 100-day pledge rally for the 2019 Gaokao. “A Hundred Days to Pledge—Chasing Dreams in the Gaokao”: Speeches by Leaders, Teachers, Students, and Parents Principal Yang Zhenyi began with a rousing speech titled “A Hundred Days to Pledge—Chasing Dreams in the Gaokao.” His impassioned words resonated deeply, encouraging the graduating class to hold fast to their dreams and persevere with unwavering effort. Representing all the Grade 12 teachers, Ms. He Lili solemnly pledged: “We will stand shoulder to shoulder with you, serving as your steadfast support and ensuring your success in the Gaokao.” “On the occasion of our motherland’s 70th anniversary,” she continued, “we hope that, over the days ahead, step by step, we may sow seeds of hope and stride toward our dreams, offering a unique gift to our great nation…” Deng Bin, a student representative from Class 1 of the Science track, issued a rallying cry: “Let us fight hard for one hundred days, strive with determination, create brilliance together, battle for our dreams, and live a youth without regret!” The heartfelt remarks of Liu Xuan’s parent, from Class 1 of the Arts track, moved the students profoundly. Recalling Difficult Times, Wishing for a Bright Future After One Hundred Days—Speech by Chairman Huang Can It is rare throughout Guangxi for a doctoral degree holder to serve as a secondary school principal—and such is the case with Mr. Huang Can, Chairman of GFLU. With deep emotion, Chairman Huang recalled his own arduous academic journey, urging students not to be daunted by adversity, to remain steadfast in their pursuit of knowledge, and to study diligently. He concluded by expressing his hope that, after one hundred days, the students would set sail confidently into the Gaokao. United in Purpose, Racing Ahead with Thousands of Sails—Teachers and Students Take Oaths and Sign Their Names All Grade 12 teachers recited a resolute oath: “Rest assured—cherish these hundred days; this is our vow, unshaken by regret. We will strive for one hundred days, a solemn commitment. We stand ready to safeguard our students, to ease the burdens of their parents, and to devote ourselves fully to the school. Together, we shall surely claim the crown of the Gaokao and write new chapters of glory!” With steely resolve in their eyes and thunderous voices, the teachers conveyed their unwavering dedication, their oaths ringing out loud and clear, brimming with confidence. Each class then took its turn to swear an oath, their passionate cries and firm pledges carrying warmth and strength: “Fight for one hundred days—soar to the skies!” With sincere hearts and solemn rituals, the Grade 12 students voiced their youthful aspirations and their vows of departure. Each solemn oath echoed across the campus, each clenched fist brimming with latent power—this was not only a pledge for the Gaokao but also a declaration of youth. Upon concluding their oaths, students solemnly signed their names on bright red banners. Nurturing Ambition, Soaring Toward the Gaokao—The Opening Ceremony of Yangzhi Garden Chairman Huang Can formally presented the “Victory in the Gaokao” banner to Principal Yang, who raised it high and led all administrators, teachers, and students of Grade 12 forward with spirited steps toward the Yangzhi Garden. Along Qingbei Avenue and through Sanming Square, younger students cheered on their seniors with rousing chants, their voices soaring high and reaching every corner of the Grade 12 hearts. Teachers marched with steady, confident strides, while students exuded boundless enthusiasm. As music sounded like a clarion call and the examination hall became a battlefield, the drumbeat urged the horses onward, intensifying the melody of the Grade 12 battle hymn. “Three, two, one—unveil!” Chairman Huang and the school leadership pulled back the curtain on the 100-day countdown board, and as students gazed upon it, their hearts swelled with emotion. They resolved to transform their excitement into motivation, throwing themselves into their studies with fervent zeal. A gentle drizzle could not dampen their ardor, nor could the lingering chill of early spring quell their passion. This 100-day pledge was a pre‑battle anthem, inspiring every teacher and student of Grade 12 to press forward with tenacity and courage. The stars do not ask about those who hasten on their way, and time rewards those who pursue their goals with sincerity. After one hundred days, the Grade 12 students of GFLU Affiliated School will surely “hoist their sails and ride the waves to cross the vast sea!”
