“We Are All Dream Chasers”—Guangwai Affiliated High School 2019 College Entrance Examination 100-Day Pledge Rally

As the cold winter fades and spring deepens, on February 27, 2019, the campus of Guangxi Foreign Languages University Affiliated Experimental School was alive with fluttering banners, eye‑catching slogans, and an atmosphere of fervent enthusiasm. The High School Division of GFLU Affiliated School held a grand ceremony marking the 100‑day countdown to the 2019 National College Entrance Examination, along with the official opening of the Yangzhi Garden, in the Middle School Auditorium. Attending the event were Chairman Huang Can, Vice Principals Lu Hanzhong and Liang Zurong, Supervising Director Chen Likeng, Principal Yang Zhenyi, Vice Principal Wei Chengjin, all teachers and students of Grade 12, as well as some parents. The proceedings were hosted by Vice Principal Tang Bangping and Teacher Chen Ziyan. To stirring music, students filed in neatly and took their seats. Principal Yang Zhenyi delivered the opening address, officially launching the “100 Days to the Gaokao: Chasing Our Dreams” rally. In his speech titled “100 Days to the Gaokao: Chasing Our Dreams,” Principal Yang’s words were passionate and deeply moving. He encouraged the graduating seniors to hold fast to their aspirations and to persevere with unwavering effort. Representing the entire faculty, Teacher He Lili solemnly pledged that the teachers would stand shoulder to shoulder with the students, serving as their steadfast support and ensuring a successful journey toward the exam. “On the occasion of our motherland’s 70th anniversary, we hope that, in the days ahead, step by step, we will sow seeds of hope and stride boldly toward our dreams, offering a unique gift to our great nation…” Student representative Deng Bin from Class 1, Science Stream, issued a resolute call: “Let us fight for one hundred days, strive with all our might, create brilliance together, battle for our dreams, and live out our youth without regret.” The heartfelt remarks of Liu Xuan’s parent, from Class 1, Arts Stream, deeply moved the students: “My child, I apologize for not having cared for you fully in the past. But going forward, we will stand by your side, showering you with all our love, so that you may forge ahead fearlessly and without worry.” Recalling his own arduous academic journey, Chairman Huang Can shared poignant memories and urged the students to remain undaunted by adversity, to strengthen their resolve, and to study diligently. He concluded with a hopeful message: “May you set sail on the day of the Gaokao, riding high on the winds of success!” With united determination, thousands of sails race across the sea—teachers and students alike took their oaths and signed their names. All Grade 12 teachers recited a powerful pledge: “Rest assured—cherish these hundred days; this is our vow, unshaken by regret. We will strive for a hundred days, making solemn commitments. We stand ready to safeguard our students, to ease the burdens of their parents, and to devote ourselves wholeheartedly to the school. Together, we shall surely claim the crown of the Gaokao and write new chapters of glory!” With steely gazes and thunderous voices, the teachers conveyed their unwavering dedication, while the students’ rallying cries echoed through the hall, each clenched fist brimming with strength. This was not merely a pledge for the exam—it was a declaration of youthful resolve. Following the oath‑taking, students solemnly inscribed their names beneath bright red banners. Nurturing aspirations, soaring toward dreams—the inauguration of the Yangzhi Garden. Chairman Huang Can formally presented the “Victory in the Gaokao” banner to Principal Yang, who led the assembled leaders, teachers, and students of Grade 12 in a spirited march toward the garden. Along the way, passing Qingbei Avenue and traversing Sanming Square, younger students cheered with rousing chants, their voices rising high and clear, reaching straight into the hearts of every senior. Teachers marched with firm steps, while students brimmed with boundless enthusiasm. As the music swelled like a clarion call, the examination hall became a battlefield, its drums urging the horses onward. From that moment on, the melody of the Grade 12 campaign grew ever more vigorous and inspiring. “Three, two, one—unveil!” Chairman Huang Can and the school leadership pulled back the curtain on the 100‑day countdown board, and as the students gazed upon it, their hearts were already filled with profound emotion. They resolved to transform their excitement into motivation, throwing themselves into their studies with renewed zeal. A gentle drizzle could not dampen their ardor, nor could the lingering chill of early spring quell their passion. The 100‑day pledge served as a pre‑battle hymn, spurring every teacher and student of Grade 12 to press forward with tenacity and courage. For those who pursue their dreams with sincerity, time never lets them down; after a hundred days, the Grade 12 students of GFLU Affiliated School will surely “hoist their sails and cross the vast ocean!”
