To strengthen fire safety awareness among all faculty and students and enhance their emergency response capabilities, Nanning Oriental Foreign Language Senior High School organized a fire drill for the spring semester of 2026 on the afternoon of April 15, with participation from teachers and students in Grades 10 and 11.

This drill was conducted with a focus on real-world scenarios, aiming to strengthen the self‑rescue and rescue capabilities of teachers and students in the event of a fire, enhance the school’s emergency response speed and evacuation efficiency, and ensure a swift and well‑coordinated response when a fire occurs. At the same time, by simulating actual conditions, the drill evaluated the effectiveness of the emergency plan, reinforced collaborative efforts among faculty and students, and further bolstered the campus’s fire safety defenses.

During the drill, as the alarm sounded, all teachers and students promptly entered emergency response mode. Under the guidance of their teachers, students from each class evacuated in an orderly manner along designated routes to a safe area. The entire process was both tense and well‑organized, with full evacuation completed in just 4 minutes and 30 seconds, and no safety incidents occurred. The vast majority of students strictly adhered to standard protective postures—covering their mouths and noses with their hands and moving forward in a low, crouched position—demonstrating strong safety awareness; however, a very small number of students did not properly perform these protective actions, highlighting the need for enhanced safety education.

Following the drill, Yang Jianhua, Director of the Moral Education Department, summarized the event. He commended the drill’s effectiveness, noting that all teachers and students evacuated safely within the allotted time, thus achieving the intended objectives. He particularly praised the vast majority of students for their disciplined execution of protective procedures. At the same time, he identified a lack of awareness among some students and called for improvements, emphasizing the need to continuously strengthen safety education to ensure that every teacher and student is proficient in emergency response skills.

This fire drill effectively tested the feasibility of the school’s emergency response plan, laying a solid foundation for building a safe campus.
