Pre-exam Psychological Stress-Relief Group Counseling for Senior Three Students

The final sprint toward the college entrance exam has begun. To ease pre‑exam anxiety among senior students, strengthen class cohesion, and foster a calm, confident mindset, on the morning of May 28, the Moral Education Department of Nanning Oriental Foreign Language Senior High School, in collaboration with the school’s psychology team, hosted the “Unite Hearts and Minds, Face the Exam with Composure—Pre‑Exam Psychological Stress‑Relief Group Activity for the Class of 2026” at Confucius Square. All teachers and students from the senior year walked together, releasing tension through engaging teamwork and reinforcing their resolve with warm support.

Activity 1: Let Go of Tension, Kickstart with Energy

At the outset of the event, the ice-breaking warm-up “Happy Stacking Cups” kicked things off.

Each team consists of 11 students and one teacher. Colorful paper cups flip and snap at their fingertips, as the fast‑paced relay and seamless coordination banish the heaviness and tension of exam preparation. When mistakes happen, they’re quickly corrected; with focused接力 and swift repositioning, every successful pass builds confidence and strengthens the team’s chemistry.

Activity 2: United in Purpose, Embarking on the Journey Together

“The Three-Part ‘United Efforts’” is the core component of this group counseling session, symbolizing that senior high school students will unite their hearts and minds, support one another, and persevere to the very end.

Drawing Water in Unity: Team members supported one another, maintained their balance, and worked together to retrieve objects within the constraints of the rules, demonstrating remarkable patience and meticulousness—much like the steady, methodical approach one takes on the road to the college entrance exam.

Weaving the Net Together: Teachers and students formed a circle, their fingertips weaving and intertwining cotton thread until a “web of unity” took shape. Everyone held their breath, concentrating intently as they used the delicate web to carefully carry mineral water and books—fully focused and working in harmony, vividly illustrating that “the college entrance exam is not a battle fought alone.”

Close the net together ： Upon completing the task, everyone worked together to wind up and collect the cotton thread, bringing the effort to a close with seamless coordination—symbolizing unwavering dedication throughout the exam preparation journey and a successful, fulfilling conclusion.

Activity 3: Moving in Step, Advancing Steadily

In the “Moving Forward Together” segment, teachers and students paired up, tying their legs together to transform into a “Giant Team.”

From initial unfamiliarity to synchronized rhythm, from uneven steps to perfectly aligned cadence, the sounds of rallying cries, marching feet, and cheers echoed in harmonious unison. Even when the line momentarily broke, everyone promptly encouraged one another, swiftly regrouped, and pressed on steadily toward the finish—perfectly embodying the true spirit of exam preparation: “unified pace, steady progress, and moving forward as one.”

Activity 4: Teachers and Students United, Empowering Joy

Following the intense collaborative challenge, a lighthearted and joyful “Teachers and Students Unite to Grab Snacks” session took center stage. Teams competed based on their accumulated points, with teachers and students teaming up to fight side by side, filling the air with laughter and cheer. Those little snacks weren’t just small rewards for victory—they were also a heartfelt testament to the bond between teachers and students, warm and comforting, injecting plenty of energy into the final sprint!

At the conclusion of the activity, the psychology team offered a heartfelt wrap-up, empowering students to carry forward the patience, attention to detail, perseverance, and teamwork they demonstrated into their final exam preparation and performance in the testing environment. Embracing nervousness, maintaining composure, and striving for steady progress—these are the core principles conveyed through this group counseling session.

On the road to the Gaokao, there is both sweat and warmth, both pressure and companionship. This pre-exam psychological group session used engaging, hands-on activities to ease anxiety, fostered a sense of belonging through team support, and empowered growth through collaborative perseverance. We wish the 2026 class of Dongfang High School seniors—armed with composure and resolve, unity and courage—to stay focused, give their all, and, on the June exam stage, let their pens soar and their dreams blossom, achieving top honors and a triumphant success in the Gaokao!

Outstanding Student Award System:

Starting from the second semester of Grade 10, a reward policy will be implemented for the top 100 students in each grade based on their overall academic performance.

(1) Students who rank in the top 10 on their grade’s semester exams and achieve a “Good” or higher rating in the school’s comprehensive assessment are awarded full scholarships. 9,800 yuan ；

(2) Students who rank between 11th and 50th in their grade’s semester examinations, and whose overall school‑based assessment is rated “Good” or higher, shall be awarded… 3,000 yuan Scholarship;

(3) Students who rank between 51st and 100th in their grade on the semester final exam, and whose overall school‑wide performance evaluation is at least “Good,” will receive… 2,000 yuan Scholarship;

Financial Aid Policy for Students in Poverty:

1. Students from registered impoverished households and children of reservoir-area resettlers shall receive financial assistance in accordance with the relevant policies.

2. In addition to national financial aid, the university provides an on-campus poverty subsidy equal in amount to the national grant.
