At the basic education level, Qian Xuesen’s “Great Achievement Wisdom Education” concept seeks to transcend traditional disciplinary boundaries, establishing an educational framework characterized by a solid foundation, broad perspectives, and robust innovation. Through a curriculum design that integrates the five domains of education, science and technology education is seamlessly woven throughout all school stages, emphasizing both the in-depth development of mathematics, physics, and chemistry and the enhancement of interdisciplinary, project-based learning to strengthen students’ capacity for knowledge integration—thus laying a firm groundwork for their participation in international scientific and technological competition and for future academic advancement. At the same time, this model underscores the cultivation of humanistic literacy and global competence, leveraging immersive scientific practice and cross-cultural exchange initiatives to nurture a new generation of young people who embody teamwork and a global outlook, thereby providing a systematic approach to developing high‑quality, innovative talent.

The Beijing Lingjing Smart Public Welfare Foundation (hereinafter referred to as the “Foundation”) was initiated and established by Professor Qian Yonggang, son of Mr. Qian Xuesen, Director of the Qian Xuesen Library at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and Chairman of the Qian Xuesen Education Committee. With the inheritance of the Qian Xuesen spirit as its core mission, the Foundation’s establishment represents both a proactive response to the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China’s call to implement the strategy of rejuvenating the country through science and education, and a creative application of Qian Xuesen’s educational philosophy of “Great‑Achievement Wisdom.” Through public‑welfare educational initiatives, the Foundation seeks to promote the scientific spirit and patriotic devotion of this distinguished pioneer of China’s “Two Bombs, One Satellite” program.

On November 25, Sun Jianbin, Director of the Program Development Department of the Beijing Lingjing Smart Public Welfare Foundation, along with other distinguished guests, visited Nanning Oriental Foreign Language Senior High School to jointly witness the school’s launch of a significant initiative aimed at studying and promoting the spirit of scientists—represented by Qian Xuesen—and carrying forward and putting into practice Qian Xuesen’s “Great Achievement Wisdom” educational philosophy. This marks a milestone in our school’s efforts to uphold the spirit of science and to explore pathways for cultivating top-tier, innovative talent.

At the symposium, Yang Zhenyi, Secretary of the school’s Party branch, stated that launching a series of initiatives to study and promote Qian Xuesen’s spirit and to put into practice the principles of Dacheng Wisdom Education represents an important step in the school’s efforts to explore early‑stage cultivation models for top‑tier, innovative talent. Relying on its distinctive strengths in foreign languages and diversified development, Dongfang High School will seamlessly integrate Qian Xuesen’s “Dacheng Wisdom” educational philosophy, break down disciplinary barriers, and enable students to strengthen their subject foundations while broadening their international perspectives and enhancing their capacity for innovation—thus responding, through concrete actions, to the “Qian Xuesen Question.”

Director Sun Jianbin listened attentively to the briefing and engaged in in-depth discussions on key issues, commending our university’s achievements in areas such as “foreign-language specialization combined with diversified development.” He also offered forward-looking yet pragmatic guidance on critical matters, including the institution’s future development strategy and the cultivation of distinctive brand initiatives.

Outstanding Student Award System:

I. First-year high school students entering in the Fall 2025 semester will enjoy the following substantial discounts during their first term.

1. Full scholarships are awarded to students with A+, A, or B+ grades. 9,800 yuan ;

2. Students rated at Level B will receive a scholarship of 3,000 yuan toward their tuition fees. 6,800 yuan ;

3. A C+ grade entitles the student to a scholarship of 1,000 yuan toward tuition fees. 8800 Yuan;

4. Tuition for Grade C and below 9800 Yuan.

II. Starting from the second semester of Grade 10, a reward policy will be implemented for the top 100 students in each grade based on their overall academic performance.

(1) Students who rank in the top 10 on their grade’s semester exams and achieve a “Good” or higher rating in the school’s comprehensive assessment are awarded a full scholarship. 9,800 yuan ；

(2) Students who rank between 11th and 50th in their grade’s semester examinations, and whose overall school‑based assessment is rated “Good” or higher, shall be awarded… 3,000 yuan Scholarship;

Financial Aid Policy for Students in Poverty:

1. Students from registered impoverished households and children of reservoir-area resettlers shall receive financial assistance in accordance with the relevant policies.
