Showcasing a Grand Vision, Building the Chinese Dream Together—A Report on the June 1st Gala of the Primary School Division at the Affiliated School of Guangxi Foreign Languages College

To celebrate International Children’s Day on June 1 and to pay tribute to the motherland, the Primary School Division of the Affiliated Experimental School of Guangxi University of Foreign Languages held a “Flying Across the Five Continents”–themed gala on the evening of May 30. All teachers and students of the primary school division attended the event.

Each segment of the program is named after one of the world’s five continents, and every segment showcases the unique characteristics of its respective region. This year’s gala is brimming with creativity and packed with diverse content. The delightful performances by our innocent and lively young performers offer a visual feast that embodies the Guangwai Affiliated School Primary Division’s broad vision and grand aspirations. Complementing the splendor of the show is the school’s motto: “Preserve the Chinese Spirit, Become Global Citizens.”

With the Five-Star Red Flag as their backdrop, all the teachers joined in singing “Me and My Motherland,” their voices echoing warmly as the audience was moved to tears. This is pride in our motherland, the unbridled honor of being Chinese, a heartfelt hymn of praise, and a splendid tribute to our nation. The fact that we can celebrate Children’s Day in peace and happiness is thanks to the prosperity and strength of our country. Wherever we go, we will continue to sing songs of admiration for our beloved homeland.

All the teachers sang “Me and My Motherland” together.

The musical “The Little Match Girl” brings to life a fairytale as dreamlike as a reverie and a stage production as fantastical as a spell, transporting us to a land far, far away. It fully captures the story that children love most. Every girl in the audience wishes she could step onto the stage right now, don that gown, and dance amidst a kaleidoscope of dazzling colors.

The dance class and the martial arts class jointly present a fusion of dance and martial arts.

“The Story of Minglan,” all in one.

The popular, trendy hit song “Rare Characters” was performed by the third-grade students in a way that left a lasting impression; one can only guess that this group of diligent learners of Chinese characters will become famous hosts in the future.

Normally, we’d only expect to see such performances on television—yet tonight, we got to experience this dazzling show up close.

At the gala, joyful songs, cheers, and applause filled the air, with waves of applause rising one after another, turning the entire venue into a sea of happiness. With graceful dances, sweet voices, and heartfelt smiles, the children fully showcased themselves to the lively rhythm, joyfully celebrating their very own festival.

The gala has concluded successfully, and we’ve once again enjoyed a wonderful evening. The event’s success would not have been possible without the many unsung heroes behind the scenes. We’d like to extend our heartfelt thanks to them: thank you for your hard work!
