Originally scheduled for the third and fourth periods, the open‑class component was temporarily expanded into a recorded‑lecture hall presentation due to the delegation’s early arrival. With no prior preparation, Chinese teacher Fan Ting from our junior high school promptly stepped into the recording studio and delivered a New‑Style Composition lesson that earned high praise from the attending experts, truly embodying the program’s principles of “authenticity and efficiency.” The open‑class observation event featured a total of thirty classes—from grades 2 through 8—representing more than sixty lessons, jointly taught by our own classroom teachers and instructors from experimental schools in Tianyang and Nanning. During these two hours, any expert could enter any of these classrooms and readily sense the distinctive flavor of the New‑Style approach. This joint showcase, bringing together teachers from inside and outside the school, marked a new milestone in our classroom teaching practices. At the closing summary meeting, Director Lu Yun of the Research Department at Guangxi Academy of Education commended the event highly and encouraged all participants to remain passionate, continue putting theory into practice, and usher in a new chapter for New‑Style Composition instruction.

Originally scheduled for the third and fourth periods, this event was unexpectedly transformed when the delegation arrived at the school before 8:00 a.m. In response, headquarters requested that we hastily arrange a demonstration lesson in the recording studio. With no time to prepare, Ms. Fan Ting, a junior high school Chinese teacher at our school, immediately stepped into the studio—after briefly composing herself—and delivered a new‑style composition‑teaching demonstration that earned high praise from the visiting experts, truly embodying the essence of this approach: “authenticity and efficiency.”

This open‑class observation event featured a total of 30 teaching classes across grades 2 through 8 at our school, with more than 60 demonstration lessons. The sessions were jointly conducted by the Chinese teachers of the respective classes and by teachers from several pilot schools in Tianyang and Nanning. During the two‑hour period, visiting expert educators could enter any of these classrooms and readily sense the “new‑style” approach. By bringing together both on‑campus and external teachers to compete on the same stage, this showcase inaugurated a new model for classroom instruction at our school, marking a milestone in our pedagogical development.
